If the noise is centered around 1840 kHz, and the span is 320 kHz, this should 
place it within the upper range of an AM radio. (1700 kHz)

You might try using a portable AM radio with a built in ferrite loop to get 
some bearings to the source.

Alternatively, you might try using a vehicle AM radio (tuned to an unused 
frequency) to scout the neighborhood.

Resolving RFI can take some time.
