That's your opinion.  I guess you think it is vital.  And I bet
millions of people _believe_ it is vital.  But the human race did fine
without cell phones for a hundred thousand years, and speaking for
myself, if they magically vanished from the world today and we all
went back to 1975 technology, I'd do quite well thank you.  What is
supremely ironic, is that when cell phones come close to being vital,
after a Katrina level event, they are wiped out and useless and then
the much belittled ham radio steps in.

Yes I'm sure the FCC places a high value on the utility of cell phones
but an awful lot has to do with who can afford lots of really good
lawyers.
