Recently the NAQP CW single operator spotting rule exception was updated and later changed back to the original. The original version was "Technological methods of copying the information in the contest exchange are permitted as long as they are entirely contained within the station." The updated version was "Technological methods of copying information in the contest exchange (e.g. CW Skimmer, code readers, etc.) are permitted as long as all components are entirely contained within the station." Which version do you prefer?

At the recent International DX Convention held in Visalia The World Wide Radio Operators Foundation, Inc. (WWROF) was announced (check out www.wwrof.org). Its mission is dedicated to improving the skills of amateur radio operators around the world, utilizing education, competition, advancement of technology and scientific research, promoting international friendship and goodwill,
and preparing them to better serve society in times of communication
need. The WWROF founders are concerned that the infrastructure currently used to support and adjudicate many events was funded by volunteers. New enhancements to the contest-administration process will require significant financial support, and until now there has been no independent organization to raise and administer such funds. What do you think of this idea?

There are rumors that due to the difficulty of detecting packet use the CQ WW contest committee is discussing eliminating the SO unassisted category leaving only the SO assisted category. Competitors can decide if they do or do not want to use DX cluster spots. What do you think of this idea? [This is no longer a rumor - Bob Cox says SO will stay and be strengthened]

Two stations are operating in a major contest, each claiming single operator unassisted status. Station A happens to come across Station B while Station B is running a frequency, and after making a contact Station B asks Station A to hold the frequency for him while he QSY's to another band for about 30 minutes. At the end of that time, Station B returns and Station A hands the frequency back to Station B. How do you view this practice?
