Pete,

Couple years ago had a kitchen remodeled where they installed "Lithonia
Lighting LED Round Ultra-Thin Wafer - Switchable White" 6inch diameter LED
lights replacing RF quiet old-style fluorescents. They were model WF6 LED
30K40K50K 90CRI MW M6. They come in WF4, WF6 and WF8 sizes.

The "wafer" mount LEDs themselves were not the source of RFI, but the "Remote
Driver Box", as they called it, screamed with RFI on HF especially around 10
MHz probably due to power wiring lengths to the kitchen. I would have tried to
pull one out with the driver box to try ferrites, but discovered doing so would
probably damage the drywall ceiling. Besides that, they were not what I asked
for to begin with.

I had originally asked for a light with the option to replace LED bulbs with
incandescent. These were not that option. In fact, you'll tear up your
ceiling or worse when it comes time to replace the burned out wafer style
lights which is what happened during their replacement with standard light cans
for the flood light style GE LED bulbs I am using now that very quiet more than
12 inches away.

Put in the standard can for incandescent or LED ceiling bulbs. You'll be glad
you did.

Subject: [RFI] LED ceiling lights

I'm launching into a basement remodeling, getting rid of a suspended ceiling
with old-style fluorescents.  I had previously replaced a number of the tubes
with LED units, and did not notice any increase in my noise floor with lights
on.  I'm now contemplating a wallboard ceiling with a number (maybe a dozen)
small  (~6 inch) LED lights.  Has anyone had specific experience with these and
can recommend (or recommend against) specific models from an RFI perspective.
