Park portable, Elecraft KX3, tree supported 31-ft end-fed.
I saw Scott K0MD's posting in the reflector on Wednesday about his problems
making contacts while QRP portable, and I don't feel so bad about my low weekly
totals from Hawaii.
Today's 0300 session beat my previous HI best by one contact. 20 meters was
good, but not optimal - several contacts to the East Coast were struggles.
Got 2x QSO's from Stan AH6KO and Heather AH7RF - who was less than 200 meters
away in the same park, but we hadn't arranged to meet up beforehand. Maybe next
week?
I'd like to try the 0700 test sometime, but my portable performance on 40m is
usually so dismal (as in CA QSO Party last week) that I don't often venture out
at 9 PM local time.
Hope to see everyone next week at 0300.
