Comments:

Another disaster caused by equipment. The SteppIR had been working for the past
few days, but this morning, again, high SWR on 40. Recalibration did not help.
When I called SteppIR last week they suggested the motors, but I had sent them
in for refurbishment and upgrading just prior to putting up the antenna. No
fix. It didn't take long for the high SWR problem to reoccur. I used the 40
meter inverted vee. Signals were good, but the west coast was weak. at 1310Z
27 x 27= 729 by 1315Z 40 x 40 = 1600. There was a lull about then and it took
10 CQs to raise someone. At 1319Z the Maestro reported "TX slice not
selected" although the TX indicated 40 was active. Lots 7 minutes
rebooting the Maestro and Flex 6600. When it came ready the frequency was not
read by N1MM, I was on 80, and I had lost keying. Restarted CAT. No fix. Had
to send the rest of the contest by hand.

Could have been a good score.
