For field day we lay our 450 ohm feeder on the ground for up 75 feet. Its not laying flate to the surface but just strung out to where it goes up to the antenna. Question, is this bad and if so how bad is it to leave it on the ground?

I would guess you incurred a bit more loss by being close to the ground but not enough to worry about. It is Field Day after all! I would worry more about someone getting tangled up in it during the night.
