I have not seen your error codes. Can you send them to me or the list?

For your other question:

If you want to see what changed between 0.53 and 0.54, you can clone
the github archive and then execute

git diff v0.53 v0.54

Tree made many changes, so if you compile, it would be better to binary
chop compiles between commits

git log v0.53..v0.54
shows 56 commits between those versions. So binary chopping should find
the commit that gives your error with around 6 compiles.
