Far easier to use a post hole digger and install a 8 foot treated 4x4 a couple of feet into the ground and then use strap to secure the mast.  Or just leave a couple of feet out of the ground and put the mast over the pipe.

I have a bunch of military mast that I'm considering using in a semi permanent basis to hold a v-uhf vertical up about 30 feet. My idea is to drive a support pipe into the ground and mount the military mast to that.  My question is, what do I use to mount the military mast to the pipe driven into the ground? Tie-wraps, bubble gum and duct tape fall short of the requirement.
