Thanks - I bought one of these - not cheap but only a little under 1 turn to connect/disconnect.  Maximum wire size is 18 gauge, which is what I have, but the allowable total size of the cable into the connector is a little small on the plug side - will have to remove the outer jacket, but at least that's inside .

I found a remarkably good family of Chinese connectors on Amazon. Plastic waterproof circular
connectors, a great many sizes and pin counts. O-ring seals everywhere, easy to solder and good
compression seals on the backshell. I’m using them for anything outdoors now, but also very
nice for something like you want to do. Most of the offerings include a cable-mounted plug and a
chassis-mounted receptacle. Search for "aviation circular waterproof connector.” Here
is one:

I'm looking for a 4-pin panel mount connector that doesn't require
multiple turns to secure the plug in the jack.? I'd prefer one of the
quarter or half-turn type, to facilitate disconnecting my antenna switch
during weather events.? any favorites?
