The 705 mic is pretty hot, compared to others like the 707, and I needed to
turn the hardware mic gain control down from 100% to 12% to use it. After
that, the settings for mic gain, SSB band width, and equalizer were the same
as I use with the 707 as I recall. Without adjusting that mic gain the 705
vastly overloads that first amplifier which is before the software mic gain
that you control from the front panel. That hardware gain is the pot under
the front panel on the right side and turns CCW for maximum.

I've found an old Ten Tec 705 mic which I'm trying to use with an Omni VII.

However, I got a report of "fuzzy" audio but it was understandable.

What are good settings for mic gain, ssb tx band with,  tx equalizer and
speech 
processor?
