All three wires, phase, neutral, and ground must be wound through the core because noise is usually on the green wire.

   Also the CorCom EMI Filters found on EBay like the1EB3 module can help also ( 
one with > 50dB rejection ) over HF to 50MHz helps for both modesof rejection
   Also using TripLite Isobar 110VAC Extension units with 4  to 6 output outlets can also 
help and have 60dB, 80dB and 100dB outlets to chose from

The filters in these units do NOTHING to noise on the green wire. See the link I posted yesterday to k9yc.com/RFI-Ham.pdf
