Contesting Online Survey

Survey Question Current Survey Question

Do you plan to enter the CQ WW DX Contest?

Recent Surveys

Recently the RDXC committee reclassified P3F to high power from low power without publicly providing strong evidence that any infraction had occurred. They concluded was that the contestant was running HP on 80/40m but not full-time, just 10 minutes here and there without any convincing evidence. It appears they used the RBN as their source of information. Should the RXDC contest have to publicly provide convincing evidence before reclassifying a station from LP to HP?

Randy, K5ZD, wrote a sidebar titled " Convergence and Change" in the 2015 CQWW CW printed results in CQ magazine. He wrote that the "convergence of personal computers, Internet access, DX clusters, and CW Skimmer have changed the nature of CW contesting". He goes to say that it is "more difficult to police the line between the single operator working alone and those who are using the assistance of DX spotting." In light of this convergence and change is it time to recombine SO and SOA into a single category?

The Last Harrah from Fallon, NV
Well it's official, The Foreclosure on the house has begun.

Looks like we have approx 4 to 5 months left at this location and then will have to move on.

That makes this upcoming contest/DX season the "Last Hurrah" for this location (NV - DM09nm).

So Might as well go out with a BANG! I now Have Mono-banders up for 10/15/20, Wires for 160/80/40/30/17/12, 1/4 Vert with elevated radials on 40, and after today a rotatable dipole on 17 as well. Hmmmm, Maybe a 5/8 vertical on 12 and call it done? Who Knows! LOL

See you in the pileups!

Vermont Will Be There
I'll be here, as usual! Probably A power instead of Q this time, though I was proud to be one of 5 stations in the U.S. to get the Sweep with 5 watts in 2010!

It's hard work on QRP, especially with a couple of wire antennas, which are all I ever use here!

Time Change
I always (irrationally, I suppose) am anxious about EDST changing to EST at 2:00 a.m. Sunday during the c.w. SS weekend!

Will my UTC logging program just keep chugging and show correct times? Or will it hiccup?

Contest Season
I am not ready. I have driver issues with Windowas 7 and I lost my desktop so I am stuck with an old laptop and I have no more interface for auto keying. Cannot do RTTY or Phone since I don't have a keyer the only contest I can enter is CQWW CW S&P using my paddles only. Now my Qso numbers will drop. Before my microkeyer cables went, my laptop had issues with it. Any suggestions, feel free to email me at n4wo at arrl . net

Ready for Contest Season
Not even close.
I have antenna work to be done, but being disabled and NO help makes it impossible to complete what is required.

Guess I'll have to make do with what I have.
