As of March 29, 2009, foreign broadcast stations were to cease operating on 40 meters between 7100 and 7200 KHz. During the WPX SSB contest did you notice a decrease in broadcast QRM between 7100 and 7200 KHZ?

It may be better back on the mainland, but I echo VR2BG's statement. It is still pretty nasty out here from 7100 to 7200 when the band is open to Asia from KH6.

Finally

40 meters is finally the night time band it should be. Transcontinental and transatlantic SWBC QRM free QSO's every night.

B'cast still there
|
This from first post-2009-03-29 report just received from DARC/IARU R1 Monitoring Service:
Frequencies still being used: every 5 kc from 7100 through 7200.
Entities so far identified still using those frequencies include: P5, BY, BV, VU, E3, 9M, EU, 6O, XZ, 4S, ST & 5X.
This survey likely to be more an indication of where folks who respond are located than actual state of the band.
