I have post about every where I know where to post.. not so send me qsl cards..I only qsl via online. I know some cant do that but I cant keep up with the qsling load. LOTW is the way to go.

100% stateside to anyone who asks for one via computer or snail mail.

If I send and dont get one back...thats the way it is. But if I send a SASE and dont get anything at all, I just might ignore them next contest when they are calling me....Darnit, I may need Whatchamacallit Island but I'll talk to them when it isnt a contest if they are going to be that way. It doesnt cost anything but a few seconds to drop a qsl in an SASE, and anyone can print one on a printer these days. On the plus side, since I went with quality photo qsl cards, I noticed my non-returned SASE's have cut in half!

Shot Gun QSLing

I used to QSL to those who did not send a SASE thinking it was someone retired or a school kid but in the last 10 years or so many hams will QSL every contact without a SASE just because their logging program will let them do it. One even commented that it was too much trouble to just QSL the ones he needed. He would 'Shot Gun' all the QSO's and then see what came back. I once got 5 QSL cards, one for each band, in the mail on different days without a SASE as the guy was going by band on his computer labels.
I figure if someone needs a QSL for an award he will send a SASE. So the ones I get without I log-in but do not reply.
This is for State-Side, Buro cards are always welcome and always replied.

I worked hard to get my novice license in January, 1957.... I cherished my first QSL from a KN8... and not only do I still have that card, but ALL of my QSL cards, I still cherish any and all that arrive in this shack. I also have all of my dad's cards (W8NVS/W3NVS), now SK.
One particular card I have displayed with the CQ Magazine highlighting the operation is KC4AF - 1958's CQ Magazine's Navassa Island DX-Pedition, I still send cards direct if necessary, via the bureau, via LoTW or eQSL. You gotta send them to get 'em!

We all needed the cards to get DXCC, WAZ WAS, JARL, 10-10 whatever. If mine will help somebody achieve that goal, I sure want to make it happen for them.
I did say in the survey I QSL 100% (of the ones that are sent to me) via bureau, in an envelope or via the internet (eQSL.cc) Its what makes the hobby complete for me.

It was once said many years ago, "The final courtesy of a QSO is a QSL!" Maybe those who are "too lazy" to reply to QSLs should sell their equipment and get off the air and do us all a favor! I have beena ham for 50-years, and QSL manager, DXpeditioner, contester, DXer for all 50 of those years. I have always felt thst it my obligation, yes, obligation, to reply to ALL QSLS received via the same method received. And the 'postage' scam is just that...a scam... as from most countries you can reply to a QSL request for less than US$1 by simply adding the words CARD ONLY or not putting the card in an envelope and sending them at airmail postcard rates...all for well under US$1!!! In fact, you could have some nicely printed cards for those who provide the return postage for a first-class airmail response, and some plain ones, printed only on 1 side, to send via the bureau or as a postcard. So either START RESPONDING 100% TO QSLS RECEIVED in a timely manner, or GET OFF THE AIR!

Funny how people who brag about being too lazy to send QSL cards don't brag about being too lazy to receive them. What does that tell you about those individuals? And people wonder why new hams lose interest in the hobby more today then ever before.

I return them the way they are received, even direct cards without the polite inclusion of an SASE. If your budget can't support the postage, at least give me an address label, and I'll spring for the envelope.

I may not be the quickest, but I do reply 100% of the time. Any direct QSL is sent back as soon as I receive it, and the balance are sent via the buro. Like others I've sent $$, envelopes and stamps to calls I need confirmed, and never get a reply. Overall though, I would guess that I get about a 70/75% return rate.

100% some of the time

I am lazy (about QSLs, actually I work quite hard in my real life) which means that it used to be that when I have free time I would print labels in big batches and send out a few thousand cards at a time.
Now I have a QSL manager (WA3RHW), but I am still lazy, only shipping him logs and accumulated SASEs every so often.
For ARRL DX contest I'll be /kp4. Then if someone mails to me instead of him, they will get to experience how bad I am, and if they QSL to him directly they will see how good he is!

Directs take too much time and effort.
I can process over 100 buro cards at the time I do one via post office.
Thankfully, OH6GDX took my pile of directs with him after the CQWW SSB. He had time and energy to process the whole bunch.
Some real volunteer work without any payback !

At one time, I QSLd 100 percent for all contacts. Finally had to give it up, didn't mind the expense, but the work was killing me. Now respond to all requests. I'm not as fast as I should be, but all get answered. Personally, I hope to see LOTW adopted widely, it just makes too much sense.

A few years ago, I needed a qsl from 8P on 160. The op was a K4 in NC. He never did send me a card even after repeated attempts with sase's and even money. He even ignored my generic card made out to myself. Fact is, you're never going to get a qsl from some, no matter what. The same was true of a 5 who had an Arizona address but operated the 160 contests from NM. I still managed to get 49 states confirmed and only need to bag a KL7 now. Or will I have to bag several?
