Networkable Windows Logging Software Reply
by N9ZWY on June 10, 2001 Mail this to a friend!
I am wondering if anyone knows of any Windows logging software that can be used in a networking environment? I'm looking for something that can handle FD logging.

Any advice would be very appreciated. :-)

I'm almost sure that Writelog does networking.
As for the freebies I only know of one. It's written by N3FJP and is a follow on to his already popular original version. He considers it as Beta so user beware. Here's the link.

I purchased WriteLog online recently (thanks for the recommendation). It does support networking very nicely.

I have noticed though thatit is very picky about setting up it's networking capabilities. When it asks for a computer name, make sure that you are aware of case sensitivity. At first, it didn't work because I was typing in a network computer name in lowercase, when it requires an uppercase name.

I'm impressed with WriteLog. Thanks for the suggestion.

I hate to post this AFTER Field Day, but maybe it will help folks next year.

I found N2TDK's Windows based logger that works on a network. I've successfully connected to laptops to a LAN and used the logger this past FD2001 with great success! You can find this free logger at http://www.tdknet.com/FDLogger/fdlog.asp

Kelly is the programmer who wrote it and gladly accepts feedback. I don't think many folks are using this program, so the more that use it, the better the word gets out.

I hope this meets many ham's needs.
