Problems with TS-870S digital readout

Anyone have problem with digital frequency readout freezing or showing incorrect digits during operation of the Kenwood TS-870S. Partial reset did not cure the problem. Seems to stick on a frequency and not move for a bit and not read correctly. Intermittent [email protected]

Mine did that and it was the little control unit (looks like a potentiometer) to which the main tuning knob is attached. It was replaced by AVVID in Irving,TX and the problem was solved. I believe that unit is prone to giving this problem. My cost was about $75 since I also paid for overnight shipping of the part.
