Bob, I believe the TS-940S works exactly like the TS-930S. You use the XVRTR connector on the rear (be SURE to use a Kenwood plug...an ordinary 8 pin DIN plug will NOT work and will damage the female connector...I speak from personal experience!). Pin 8 is the HF antenna output from the TS-930, Pin 5 is the RX Ant input and Pin 3 is GND. You can make a switch with Pin 5 as a common and switch between Pin 8 (normal TX antenna) and your Beverage. This is described on page 33 of my 930 manual under "operation with a separate receiver antenna" but it may be different in your 940 manual. I've used this with my 930 since 1984 with no problems whatsoever (never a blown front end). Good luck!

Yup, same for 940 and 930 (I used to have both radios and connectors were the same).

Many thanks to those of you who responded!! I should have read a bit further in my manual!. My face is red-a friend told me about the 2nd rig but didn't mention the 2nd antenna.

Thanks again

I have an ususual peice of music gear that has 8 pin DIN connectors. The cable has died from years of abuse and I need to replace it. The problem is that I am not sure if it is an ICOM 8 pin or a Kenwood 8 pin.

Can you tell me how to tell the difference?

I appreciate any advice that you can give me. As it may save me from having to order several heads that I don't need.
