For those who may not be aware, Alberto and I have been testing some contest managment software to take care of the log checking, scoring and ranking of entries. After writing the software and doing some preliminary testing (I'm not ready to call it "beta test", yet) I can attest to the fact that sponsoring a contest is hard work!
But if anyone else needs some contest managment software to alleiviate the tedious job of checking and scoring, please contact me. No promises, but I may be able to help.
I hope to see you all on the air in the contest!

Hello Alberto,
I'm working on the implementation of the GACW CW DX Contest 2005 on
Win-Test.
Please confirm that the rules are similar to the CQWW DX contest, except:
1/ 160 m is not allowed
2/ CW only
3/ Stations out of SA get 5 points for QSO with SA (instead of 3). And
SA stations get the usual pts (=> 0 pt in same country, 1 pt for SA, and
3 pts for non-SA QSO).
4/ There is no Multi-Two category
I need to know the correct contest abbreviation for the Cabrillo header
file :
CONTEST: GACW-DX is OK ? [I remind you that this abbreviation must be
in capital letters without spaces characters]

Hello dear OM Laurent F6FVY:
Merci pour votre atention...!!!
Many thanks for your msg and Win Test Modification for the GACW WWSA CW Contest.
I CFM points 1 to 4 100% OK.
Attached you will find the GACW CBR definition used for Walter Fair W5ALT for the development of the AltContestMgr control - score and ranking software. A copy of this is send to him for any remarks about the contest name under CBR format.
Most of programs are named this contest in CBR log as GACW or GACW DX
Many thanks for your support and hope to see you in France late this year.
Muchos saludos

Hello all,
I will ask to publish contest rule to Japanese CQ Magazine contest page.
I will make Japanese contest page of the GACW, if owner of the GACW web site can make link.
Zlogw which is most populer contest logging software in Japan might be useful with WPX contest mode.
We might need some modification. I will check it and anounce in Japanese web site.

Hello dear OM Toru JG1EIQ:
Many thanks for your post and interest about our WWSA.
Japan - our antipodes- is always welcome because the quality and participants number.
I think you can help us a lot taking care of WWSA promotion in Japan...!!!.
The best and easyest way to make a modification to a contest software is doing it from the CQ WW CW option, Not the WPX.
The NEW WWSA is based in CQ WW rules with extra points for DXers working SA stations.
You can watch the rules in our web site http;//gacw.no-ip.org
I will be very happy to make a link to your web site if you send me the address, etc.
Many thanks for your help and support.

Why...?
+ Why the new WWSA is held during the second weekend of June?
Because it was the original date of the old WWSA and there arent any other major CW contest during the same weekend.
+ Why WWSA name?
Because it means World Wide and South America shaking hands.
+ Why its only CW mode?
Because PPC and GACW were CW interested groups.
+ Why its 24 hours format?
We want to be more human because the time differences with Europe, Africa, Asia and Oceania.
+ Why did you close the GACW DX april contest?
Because there are many other CW contest on the same date making a lot of problems and the task is to heavy for us.
+ Why this new WWSA format is very similar to the CW WW?
Because its easier for contesters understanding and software modification.
+ Why 160 meters band is not included?
Because its not very used in our continent.
If you have some other "Why?", we will be very glad to answer your
question.
