Your idea of Ham Radio... Reply

Your idea of Ham Radio is totally incorrect! Ham Radio isn't about talking with people (although some people enjoy that too). We have telephones for that. Ham Radio is more about learning about propagation, radios and antennas. If you think ham radio is just a free telephone, then might i ask why you got your license in the first place?

Ham Radio isn't dying because its boring! It's dying because no one knows about it! We need more EXPOSURE!

You talk to people about HAM radio so you can learn to talk to more people on HAM Radio. Have you ever had a meaningful conversation on HAM radio? One that you were happy to have? Or when it got interesting did you just tell them person to email, instant message, or call you?

And by the way, the reason we learn about propogation and all the rest of that stuff is so we have a reason to give ourselves when we haven't heard or spoken to a person after days of trying.

When is the last time you talked to someone? How do you know its so meaningless when you have never tried it? Why don't you give it a try, and then you can argue about it.

Your missing the whole idea about ham radio...

Sir, that's a personal attack, not a discussion on ideas. I will not respond.
