Writing an article review is an assignment that requires a lot of attention to detail. It also requires critical thinking and analytical skills.

Unlike other kinds of academic writing, article reviews are meant to evaluate and summarize an author's work. This task is often difficult because of its complexity.

Introduction

An article review is a critical analysis of an article and a critical evaluation of the author’s research. It summarizes the article’s main points, ideas, and arguments. It also discusses the positive aspects of the work and the negative aspects, gaps, contradictions, or unanswered questions.

The article review's introduction identifies the research's source, introduces its importance, and explains why it is essential. It should also establish a purpose or thesis statement for the review.

Ideally, the introduction should not include too many facts about your research subject area that your target readers would know. Instead, you should use keywords from your title to help focus your readers’ attention on your research and avoid overstating facts that might be obvious to them.

When previewing an article, look at the title and abstract, the introduction, the headings, the opening sentences of each paragraph, and the conclusion. This will help you quickly grasp the article's general idea and critical points.

Body

The body of your article review should consist of a summary and critique. Your paper should be objective and well-organized, ensuring that all the ideas and arguments are well-supported by proof and thoughtful reasoning.

To prepare the body of your paper, you need to read the article and highlight the main points you want to discuss. After this, you can create a preliminary outline for your article review and refine it later.

To start, you need to identify the article by writing its title, author name, resource (journal, website, etc.), and year of publication. A proper citation should follow this information in your citation style.

Conclusion

Conclusions are an essential component of any good piece of writing. They help give it a final polished look and can even be why readers remember your work for years.

Your conclusion should include a synthesis of the key points made throughout the article. It should also provide a place to reflect on the evidence presented in the paper and offer recommendations about how future research could be conducted.

This section should always begin by reminding your reader about the research problem you have addressed throughout the body of your paper. Then, you should highlight some of the most important findings that have advanced a new understanding of your research problem, have uncovered unexpected results, or have a significant application to practice.

It should also address the negative aspects of your research process that you have identified and reported in the results section of your paper. These are the most critical elements to consider and should be included in your conclusion.

References

A good article review requires a lot of research. You must look for references from reliable sources such as journals and other academic writings.

The first step is to read the article several times, making notes of the central points and facts in the text. Then, you can start writing an outline based on your collected information and your interpretation of the article.

You should only include essential claims and information about the article in this outline. You should not have any superficial opinions or your reaction.

Once you finish the outline, you should review it to eliminate everything unnecessary or unimportant. It will help you write the actual paper better and more efficiently.
