Like other brands TP link also offers range extender devices. An extender device receives signals from the router and amplifies it further to eliminate dead zone areas. Whether you are suffering from weak signals in certain parts of your home or office, tp link extender setup can help in improving signal strength. You can set up the tp extender at your home or office to extend network coverage. Walk through the step by step guide available on this page to add tp link extender to your home network. TP Link Extender Setup Process TP link extender setup is a super easy process. To proceed with the setup, you may require a laptop/ computer/ mobile along with a working home router that has internet connection, an ethernet cable and a tp link range extender device. So without any further debate lets move ahead with the process: Unbox, Place and Power the Extender You can start the process of setup by unboxing the device. Pull the TP link extender out of the box. Also the other items box contain including a quick setup guide, and possibly a power cable (depending on the model). Look for a proper placement of the device from where your device signals can reach the spot where you are facing no signals. Also consider to keep the device within the signal strength of your home router. In addition you have to focus that your device also requires a power outlet nearby to get started. We would like to advise you to keep the device proxy to your router till the initial setup completes. Once the setup is done successfully then you can move it to another location. Power up the extender by inserting the power adapter to the power port of the range extender and power outlet. Supply the power to your tp link range extender by turning on the switch. Check out the device LED to confirm the device is booting up successfully. Move ahead with the tp link extender setup process to connect the device with the network. Connect to the TP-Link Extender You can connect the range extender to the home/ office router by using the web interface after the bootup process of the device completes. Using your computer, smartphone, or tablet, search for the TP-Link extenders default Wi-Fi network. The default network is usually something like "TP-Link_Extender_XXXX" or similar, depending on the model. Connect to this network by selecting the default ID & using default password as mentioned on the device label. Open your web browser (Google Chrome, Safari, Firefox, etc.) and type http://tplinkrepeater.net into the address bar. Alternatively, you can use the default IP address 192.168.0.254 instead of the http://tplinkrepeater.net. Login to the web interface by entering admin in both username and password field. After logging in, youll be prompted to select your Wi-Fi network from a list of available networks. Choose your main Wi-Fi network (the one you want to connect the device and extend signals) and click Next. Enter the password of the same. Once entered, click Next to continue. The TP-Link extender will ask you if you want to create a new SSID (network name) for the extended network or use the same name as your original Wi- Fi network. Using the same SSID is usually the best option, as it allows for seamless roaming between the networks. If you choose to create a new SSID, make sure to note it down, as you'll need to connect your devices to this new network. Once all the changes you wish to make in all the settings complete, click Finish or Save. The extender will reboot, and within a few minutes, it will be fully connected to your Wi-Fi network. You can now disconnect from the extenders default Wi-Fi network and reconnect to the extended network you just set up. Verify the Connection After completing the TP Link Extender setup, its important to verify that the TP-Link extender is working correctly. Are your devices connecting to the extended network or not? Follow the steps to verify: First connect a mobile device with the new network you created. Use the password you set during setup to establish the connection. Thereafter, go to the area where you were struggling with signals before setting up the extender device. If the signal is now much stronger, and your devices should be able to connect without issues. Then your range extender is working accurately. Conclusion Setting up a TP Link WiFi extender is an easy and effective way to extend the range of your wireless network and eliminate weak signal areas. Whether you use the WPS setup or manual web-based setup, you can have your TP-Link extender up and running in no time. With a proper setup, youll experience better coverage, faster speeds, and a more reliable connection throughout your home or office.
