Comments:

The planned foursome became a threesome when a seasonal virus invaded the home
of one of us late in the week. Nevertheless we decided to keep to the M/2 plan
instead of downsizing to M/S. This maximized operator time but we were each
putting in time comparable to a single op effort. By the end we were all sleep
deprived and feeling pretty frazzled. The two chairs were occupied for almost
the full 48 hours.

The combination of geomagnetic storm and a lack of operators affected our score.
We did the best we could despite the challenges while still keeping it
enjoyable. The early morning low band openings to the Pacific and Asia were
muted and on Sunday morning it felt as if a wet blanket was thrown over us as
the opening to Europe was thin and weak. Eventually it recovered but it was
frustrating to hear US stations just south of us running DX on 10 that were
inaudible here.

Overall I am very happy with our result. Hopefully Dave and Rich will agree once
they've had one or two good nights of sleep! I have a long list of station
improvements to consider. I'll add them to the list from the SSB weekend that I
have yet to deal with.

When it was over, the three of us were quiet as we contemplated the food and
drink in front of us. We were left with the perplexing problem of dividing 8
slices of pizza among 3 hungry contesters.
