Park portable - Elecraft KX3, 9.5m vertical end-fed random wire (9:1 unun) in a
tree.
3 sessions - 0045-0500z Saturday, 0100-0500z Sunday, and 2000-2400 Sunday.
Very casual effort - just wanted to get the radio outside and make some CQWW
contacts. My QRP S&P rate was pretty consistent at 25/hr despite the
geomagnetic storm early Sunday - I got lucky with a few brief runs on 10 and 20
meters interspersed with the S&P effort.
It's a very puny result compared to most, but for part-time QRP with a wire
antenna from Hawaii, I can't complain. I discovered after my second session that
I was nearing the SOAB QRP unassisted record score for KH6, so that became my
primary goal for the late Sunday session. After that, I aimed for 300 total
contacts (I know, that's merely a good hour for big guns!). After reaching that,
my stretch goal was 100K points, which I didn't quite make. Something to aspire
to next year...
Thanks to all for the contacts - it was fun. Fortunately, terrestrial weather
cooperated - no rain, and manageably moderate winds.
