Well, Live and learn again!
I keep preaching on testing everything before a contest. I still need to follow
my own preachings!
I was all set for Sweeps. I went as far as to make number wavs too. So if
Running all I will need to say is the other stations call. When S&Ping never
have to say anything. And it sounded pretty natural.
Contest starts. I go to chase mults first. Find one, smash enter, nothing
happens, and a error box from N1MM+ Pops up telling me it lost connection with
the sound card. Huh?
Reset everything and it still happens. SWR is fine everything seems perfect.
HUH? I can transmit with my Mic just fin. But nothing with the soundcard. I
finally learn that I can run this at between 20 and 30 watts. 20 watts solid
machine, 30 watts and about 25% errors. Oh well I ended up running a QRO version
of QRP. 20 watts!
I always thought anyone that runs QRP in Sweeps is Crazy! But I was very
surprised. 600 Q's if you include the dupes. and 84 mults! Never could get that
VI into the log.
