Comments:
Considering we did not know if the station would survive hurricane Tammy last
week, and we were delayed by 2 days getting to the station; we were thrilled to
find minimal damage when we finally arrived.
It seemed to rain forever, but it let up just long enough to fix all the
antennas.
We managed to get all the wires up and repair broken stuff by Thursday.
Everything worked, and the line noise was minimal thanks to the wet conditions.
Randy and I were elated to have Chris KL9A join us for the first time. His
enthusiasm was apparent from the start. I would worry about something, and he
would say "don't worry, we are going to make 12,000 QSOs". I would
not believe him until the end.
There are a million stories to tell, but I will save them for another time.
Everything worked and nobody got hurt so it's a win-win! We pushed hard at the
end to break 12K Q's and made it with a bit to spare. We were trying to break
the M/S record we set in 2015, but the required mults just aren't active these
days.
Still the best 48 hours in contesting. Except for the CQWW CW of course.
Our breakdown is below. Thanks to Randy and Chris for their operating and
antenna skills. The week was very productive and satisfying for us, plus we had
a great time.
