Hello from up high in Tantalus, on Oahu! POTA K-2222, half a mile hike and off
the trails a tiny bit.
Same setup as previous expeditions up here - KX2, 21 ft endfed, with 17ft
crappie pole/walking stick. Nice and dry, lots of mosquitoes. Bug spray helped,
but still got more mosquito bites than contacts. I got 2 contacts only, from my
friend Stan AH6KO on 20m and 40m. Not a lot of loud signals for me to pounce,
and quite a few of you guys sounded underwater. Tried running, no luck getting
spotted, either. No worries, I had fun, and was happy to get the 2 contacts I
did! It's never a bad time up on those trails. The highlights from this CWT were
being able to smell the ginger (wow!) and seeing the spectacular sunset on the
way home. :-)
Undecided on 7z...
