2023 IOTA on Bailey Island, NA-137, Maine...N4CW and W4TMO operating K1IMI
It went well for a casual operation...of course we had to stop for breakfast at
the Bailey Island General Store at 7 AM, then set-up took us 45 minutes after we
got to the Land's End parking lot, then I ran into problems with Winkey!!! I
couldn't fix it on the spot, so I decided I'd just be using the keyboard (as you
do, only I'm much slower!). Around 3:30 PM we went for "linner" (lunch
and dinner) at a nearby restaurant on the island...to do that, we had to break
down the antenna system (dipole/inv vee and BuddiPole). We got back and set up
just the BuddiPole and got on the air just as the rain started, around 4:30 PM.
We ended the day on 20M.
In a nutshell, we made 100 Q's and 50 IOTA mults for around 110,000 points. Not
impressive and not as many Q's as last year...but more mults!
We quit after 7 PM, having to take down the BuddiPole in the pouring rain!
We got home around 9:15 PM...
