Comments:

WX started out in the low 80s with rain threatening. Starting at 1800z trying
to gather all the parts to make a 180 meter OCFD 270' plus winding 6:1 a BALUN.
I was going to use 300 Ohm twin lead but couldn't find it. So I placed the
BALUN at the antenna with 100' of RG58. I didn't need this much but I didn't
want to cut the cable because it had nice BNC connectors. It took me almost an
hour to wind the BALUN and finish the case with connectors. And, another 3
hours to place the antenna having to work around the horses in the paddocks.
Starting CW at 2239z working almost 4 hours before retiring for the evening.
Sunday starting at 1250z. Too many choices to make out in the boonies not
knowing if more people will show up. I could have just as easily chosen to run
class B instead of E snice I ran only QRP and on batteries with a 100 watt+
solar pannel, Rig K4D running 5 watts to a slopping OCFD 60 to 40 feet and the
center at 30'. 72/73 to all and thanks for the FD fun and for the QSOs. Phil
