Comments:
Jeff, KQ7I, brought his TS890S, KPA1500 and his callsign over for the weekend.
Due to a software issue, we had to dedicate each station to specific bands so
the QSO numbers were right. He wanted 10 and 40, and so it was. Unfortunately,
10 meters wasn't very good so he made most of his QSOs on 40.
I did a little 2BSIQ on 20/15 when I was up for it.
This station is slowly getting a bit better for DX contests. I now have a
rotatable 10M beam and even a spare pointing East now (can move it to EU for
next winter). Also, Jeff suggested we put up a dipole on 40 and I dusted off
the two-antenna stack match I used last in Boring and that worked well when
someone called in off the back/side of the beam. I will have to keep this for
future contests.
20 meters never seemed to want to close the first night and there were even some
Europeans on 15.
The goal of the operation was to generate as many points for the Club as
possible. I think we hit a pretty good score / operator ration.
