Comments:

I wasn't up for a full-time effort this year. I had an accident a month ago
tearing down an old shed at home (I lost 2 teeth in the effort and had back pain
for 3 weeks). I just finished building the new shed Thursday, in time to come to
the cottage Friday to open it for the summer. We arrived just 2 hours before the
contest started. I got things running more or less, but still had some plumbing
issues to resolve Saturday.

I got off to a late start in the contest by the time I finished opening the
cottage and eating dinner Friday evening. I was already suffering from sleep
deprivation at the start of the contest; not a good sign.

With the noise problem that persists on 15m (S7+), I couldn't rely on this money
band for much. Luckily, there were short periods where the band was wide open to
EU and many signals broke above my noise floor allowing me to actually run for a
while. Otherwise, 15m was S&P for me. When running, I could hear lots of
guys calling me, but they were just at the noise floor and not copyable. I felt
bad about that. They must have thought I was deaf, or some kind of LID.

80m was very noisy, so I didn't work many EU stations there.
I didn't hear an opening to EU on 10m. It was mostly SA, Caribbean and USA.

In the end, I put in only 30 hours, so my score was way down from 2020 and 2021.
I missed 2022 due to the big tornado hit that wiped out everything here. By the
end of this summer, I hope to have everything back to the way it was before.

I love this contest and look forward to a better effort next year.
