Comments:

Our plan was to operate from a QTH on the Mineral/Nye county line that we've
used several times before, but weather caused us to change our plans. Churchill
was convenient, and no one had signed up for it, so we set up there. We also had
planned to start on 10M, but prop was pretty poor on the higher bands, and we
never saw a signal there. Even 15 was poor.

This was the first time I've experienced rain static, and now I understand what
the N6RO guys are talking about. I've never experienced it at home, perhaps
because many of my antennas are insulated, and also because lightning is quite
rare in NorCal close to the Pacific.
