Operated as a /mobile entry from Thousand Oaks ~~DM04ne. Used FT857 and 9
elements horiz polarized and a whip. Worked 2 DM13 stations, best DX Carlsbad,
CA , W6it in Newport Beach, and several Ventura Co stations.
With unusual fog along part of shoreline, K6TSK in Anaheim was weak while the
more distant DM13 stations were loud.
A highlight of evening was to explain Vhf contesting/SPRINTs to newly licensed
ham, John, kn6thp. Who walked by my QTH with his dog. He used my extra handheld
to make his FIRST QSO without a repeater and also worked another local guy for
his first cO testing!
