Thanks to Paul W1IMD for the use of the great station.
Saturday I couldn't get into the swing of the contest and didn't spend the time
I should have. I only made 250 contacts all day. Strange propagation and some
aurora were noticed.
Sunday was another matter. I made over 500 additional contacts. It's rare to
double your Saturday total on Sunday. There was very good activity to keep
things moving.
I was called off the side of the beam by some excellent DX including T8, YB,
E51, 9N, VU, and HS. It was a lot of fun and often a surprise since I was
running much of the time.
This contest has really grown over the years and I will be sure to participate
next year. I should have plotted my strategy better based on the unique
scoring. I tried to spend time on 40 meters for the double points but
conditions were better on 20 and 15. If I wasn't running, I was chasing down
South American stations.
