So...Riddle this! Two solid days of LA/MS/MO QSO
parties with no issues. Station ran like a swiss
watch. Tonight on SST, Im running on 20 with no
problems. Gets a bit slow and I see everyone moving
to 40m. So like a good OM, I move to 40 as well. Hit
the F1 key and HOLY COW the FT-950 cuts back to 20W and
shoots me an SWR off the scale!!! Geeze Willie, Whats up!?
So I cut the session short to trouble shoot. Pull my SWR
analyzer out of its cave...NO POWER. Open it up and the
batteries are CORRODED! Well...what now genius? Time to
land this bird and figure it out!
Rest of story still to come.... If anything can go wrong,
it eventually will. LOL
