Comments:

Following several days of preparation work, Scott W5WZ was pleased with the
potential of a great contest with three experienced ops W5WZ, WM5H and KD5YS
along with a relatively new contestor KK5BS joining the team. Four hours before
the contest, Scott got called in to work. The team arrived, and in Scott's
absence some of the last minute pre-contest testing was simply not done. Scott
was able to return by 2100. The team was doing great. The station was performing
very well. Then Murphy struck. An op on the in-band S&P for Run 2 noticed
that the hardware interlock was not inhibiting transmit on the Run 2 primary
transmitter. We paused for some testing and concluded that it was very likely
that this condition had existed for most, if not all of the contest. Because of
that, with disappointment we must submit our log as a checklog. We continued
operating to get to 900 QSOs around 10pm, then called it a night. Still, fun
with friends was had and KK5BS got his first taste of multi-op RTTY contesting.
