That was a fun weekend ! Great condx to JA on 40, 15 and 10. Excellent Europe on
15, but only for 2.5 hours each morning. Need more sunspots and common daylight
! Both out of my control ! Sitting here in SW New Mexico, with no big antenna
stacks, I'm amazed at the pileups I could crack in 1 or 2 calls.
If you think that the 538 QSO's on 10 means we had a big Europe opening, you
would be mistaken. 70 EU. 264 JA. 148 South America. 80 and 160 were simply
awful to everywhere most of the time. Never even heard zone 33 on 160, much less
Europe. Struggled to work JA3YBK and JF1AMX on 160 for the double mult.
97 China QSO's. Maybe those very low cost, QRP transceivers they are making are
having a big effect on CW contesting from there ? Most were very good ops, too.
