Comments:
This year we were joined by N6AN for our M2 gathering of W4IX, W6PH, and myself.
It was very nice having a fourth operator for the rest aspect as we run two run
radios and an interlocked inband/out of band radio.
We really enjoyed the 10M openings here with our new 8/8/8/8 stack to EU/W1 and
the 7/7 stack to JA finally got an excellent chance to show itself. A recent
microburst took out 2/3rd of the EU 15M stack and yet our numbers there seemed
to hold very well.
Our new Oceana 580' beverage really played well 15-160M in that direction and
also long path EU! Our newer in band verticals allowed us to work the moderate
DX signals and above... if you could hear them as an inband partner using these
antennas you were just about assured that your TX antennas would one call them!
We had a great time working with our MOAS and RX options when in band with one
another.
The Icom 7610's here are holding up very well... the pan's kept helping us to
quickly crack piles with rapidly seeing where to setup for success!
We had some set backs with equipment... an Alpha 91B lost it's newly replaced
blower motor and a JK 80M rotatable dipole has developed a Tornado Tuner issue
that will need to be repaired. Thankfully we have redundancy options here and
the problems were very quickly overcome other than the 80M issue as the old 80M
wire dipole was destroyed during our recent microburst (K3LR 80M four square to
come).
