Comments:
Team: Dave AA4VT, Tom W4OKW, Rob W6RTC, Craig NZ4CW, John KB4DX, and Rick W4GE.
QTH: Suburban ¼ acre lot, single 90-foot tower.
Missing from action this year: Steve AA4V, and Gay N4SF.
Condx: Daytime was pretty good propagation, but suffered from increased noise
and absorption from some coronal activity. Nights were a slog, even on 40.
High bands dead above 20.
All in all, a good time was had by all. Tom and his son Rob were new-comers to
contesting, and maybe we’ve set the hook for their future work.
Rigs: Elecraft K3(S)/P3 x 2, Acom 2000a, Elecraft KPA 1500, Filtermax low power
filters, VA6AM high-power filters and triplexers, 3 Raspberry Pi’s running
FreqEZ as antenna switch controllers.
Antennas: two 3-element SteppIRs, one at 57 ft, the other at 90 ft; 2-element
40m Optibeam at 72 ft.
Software: N1MM+
