I have to do this contest to remind myself why I don't do these major SSB
contests.
I was shocked at the bad behavior on 20m. 40m had people playing music and
tuning everywhere it seemed. Looking forward to anything other than SSB and FT8
for a change. Of all the bands I listen to, 15m was the most hospitable, though
I only spent a few minutes there (should have done the whole contest on 15m).
Needless to say, I was happy to see Sunrise on 40m, and Sunset on 20m.
On the bright(er) side, there was some good DX on, but it was like working a DXE
with all the East Coast pile-ups at every stop. I was amazed that nobody (or
very few) was working HD8 on 40m/15m, yet a VK6 / J88 stations had huge pile-ups
going. What's up with that?
I would say I'll see ya in the next one, but, I'll most probably be skipping
this one in the future (need to stay in my lane so to speak).
