Comments:

Equipment: TS-480SAT (100W) and HF-9V

That was a lot different than I was expecting! But then again, I hadn't been
checking the solar indices all week to know what to expect. Saw pictures on
social media of the Northern lights taken at the remote QTH, which would explain
a lot.

8.5 hours more in the chair than last year, 11 fewer QSOs and 47 fewer DXCC.

Couldn't get anything going at the start on 40m. Move to 80m where it took 10
minutes to make the first QSO. Ended the first night at 0537Z with only 64 QSOs
(38 on 80m and 26 on 40m). I just wasn't getting picked up by any of the
skimmers in EU. Meanwhile, my friend VO1HP about 800km SE of me, was getting
reports of 25-30dB by the EU skimmers at the same time.

Never heard any JAs and only worked one ZL on 40m.

Missed a few guys on Saturday on 15m but figured I'd just pick them up on Sunday
when the pileups were thinner. Never heard them on Sunday when checking the
spots or tuning the band.

Thanks for the QSOs!

73,

Chris VO2AC / VE3FU
