Comments:

Tribander failed in December, so all wire antennas and all simple one element
and no receive antennas. First time without the tribander in this contest since
1973. Meant very little running on the higher bands. Some on 20 above 14.1
when band was open to Europe. Otherwise old fashioned search and pounce. Took
time out for two family meals, every other meal at home with XYL, and church on
Sunday. Some sleep too, of course. Thought band conditions the first day and a
half were quite good, but very poor for the last ten hours or so. Nice to see
some openings to the south on ten meters, but ten was almost a bust on Sunday
afternoon. Nice to work some Europeans, some South Pacific, and two Japanese
stations on 15M. First JA QSOs on 15 in some years, I think. Very surprised to
work BG2AUE on 80 and BY4DX and some other rare DX on 40. Thanks for all QSOs.
Probably won't put in as much time on the SSB weekend. Wire antennas work
better on CW it seems. 73, John, K4BAI.

TS590SG, KPA1500, inverted L for 160M (used also on 10 and 15, fancy that), 80M
coax fed inverted vee dipole, 40M low coax fed dipole, 88 ft center fed zepp
used on 80, 40, and 20M. This was the only antenna useful on 20M. Thanks to
KU8E for making and putting up the inverted L for me. Conditions on 160M to
Europe seemed good, but I went to sleep long before European sunrise both nights
(about 0400Z QRT), so didn't operate the best hours on 160M for Europe.
