100 watts, 3-foot and 7-foot diameter homebrew magnetic loops at 15 feet from
AZ, all S&P

I was wondering how I was going to choose my off times, but that was partly
taken care of for me thanks to a serious headset problem and my large loop being
blown down. (What a luxury fixed antennas must be!)

15 was in good shape early to the east coast, but as usual not very busy. 20
seemed to be fairly short all day. My goal was 100 QSOs, and I was having
trouble keeping up with the pace I needed. I was way behind when I finally had
to go to 40, where I got 6 QSOs in 5 minutes and 18 in 34 minutes including a
lot of fiddly loop tuning in between QSOs. Later, I had a one-hour stretch on
80 with only 3 QSOs but that was in between some better rates. I couldn’t
have cut it much closer, #100 came just 4 minutes before my 10 hours ran out!
(I’ll be shocked if I didn’t mess up a name or two in the final log check,
though.)
