100 watts, homebrew magnetic loops from AZ
Limited effort for various reasons, including the start of the Arizona monsoon
and its attendant thunderstorms. All S&P. Unlike WPX SSB where I couldn't
break through to Europe, I had some luck on 20 during the afternoon just as the
storms were rolling in. Did not try very hard for domestic contacts in lieu of
waiting for DX flare-ups. Highlights were working New Zealand and Canary
Islands on 40 within a minute of each other after many tries and easily working
Japan on 20 near midnight local time. Still in my first year on HF, but I like
this format and hope to make a greater effort next year.
