Comments:
It was the best of times. It was the worst of times. I started the weekend with
my antenna farm consisting of a 40m dipole up 15 ft in the air and a 20m dipole
up 20 ft in the air. I spent Friday evening on 40m, then started Saturday
morning on 15m using my 40m dipole. I guess the SWR was a little too high for
the 500w I pumped out. I fried the coax. That finished my operation on 15m and
40m, so the rest of the weekend was spent dredging 20m for contacts. I suppose
the highlight was contacting Antarctica in the last hour, DP1POL. I'm still
amazed at what one can do with a low hanging dipole. Hopefully next year I'll
have some proper antennas.
