Comments:

With the wife away in EU and W6LD using our P40L-P49Y station, it seemed like a
good weekend for a semi-serious effort from home. I haven't done a serious WPX
from CA in a number of years (though lots from Aruba, including SSB this year,
see www.arubaqth.com).
It was lots of fun to get on the air to try to reach my goal of 1,000 Qs and
1M points. And taking time off when you feel like it and not worrying about he
60-minute off time rule is very liberating. In fact, by WPX time, I put in
almost 19 hours, but counting up my off times (defined as greater than 10
minutes without a Q) gives 34 hours -- a new way to come up with 5 extra hours
in a weekend!
Probably the most fun was each night at circa 0500Z, putting the beam north
and running EU, JA, Asiatic Russia, etc. And, as always, it is great to play
with some very accomplished CW fanatics from all around the world.
  73,
Andy, AE6Y
