Comments:

Kenwood TS-950SD with 150 watts output,a new Heil BM-10 Headset with 500 Ohm
impedance element,(too light-won't stay on my gourd), and a "home
brewed" 102 ft. G5RV up 50 feet running N-S at 6,053 feet elevation from
Laramie Co. in Cheyenne, WY.
I was sub NCS for the High Noon "Traffic Net" on 7.240 MHz., so I
decided to stay at home after the Net and operate as a 1-D category. As a
result,I had a late start. I had fun in spite of less than stellar band
conditions-At least we did not get "spanked" by a major CME which was
my fear-Hi! I encountered way too many Delta class (commercial power Ops at
home) who wanted to log my 1-D home station. Class D stations are supposed to
work the ops with the sun burn and mosquito bites who are out "in the
field", and not use Field Day as a way to snag Wyoming for WAS,etc. It is
after all supposed to be a Field Day experience. Please ARRL-Remind people of
this rule!It was nice to work the local SHY-WY Club from my home QTH. Heard
some great YOUNG ops. I hope that they catch "the fever", so that we
can hear them in the pileups soon.
