Comments:

Not much DX to work from my noisy environment but the new shunt-fed tower seemed
to play better than the old inverted L. Chased NO5W around but never got MS.
It's frustrating to hear loud eastern stations that can't be worked when you
are in the null of their directional receive antenna.
Rig
K3 Alpha 86 75 ft shunt fed top-loaded tower.
RX antennas
nw/se 500' and ne/sw 300' reversible beverages
homebrew 90' diam hex array

I have been operating 160m from WS7N for the past few 160m contests. He has an
equivalent TX arrangement but is away from the city noise and has some really
nice receive antennas. This was the first time I've used the hex array in a
contest. It plays about the same as the Beverages but hears the noise just as
well or better. With Oregon's legalization of pot starting in July, I expect to
be dealing with grow light QRM in addition to the plasma TVs.

Thanks for the contacts.
73,
Dick
