Comments:

Kinda short of op's this weekend...but we made the best of it...new station
records: 80m first hour 105 qsos/hr, New station record 40m total qso's, new
qso record 15m, new total score record and hopefully new 4th call record total
score, New record of total qso's for ARRL CW, 15m new record 183 qso's first
hour of EU opening.

160 meters: Band was exceptionaly noisy..and we had no full time committed
op...many of the op's took time to sit in the seat for small periods of time.
We need a 160 m committed op...hint ...hint...

80 meters...Drubber had the best hour ever on 80 m of 105 qso's the first
hour..the 12 element LPDA still amazes us...its nice to be able to work EU
before dark...also it was nice to work and hear those low power EU's...and a
UA9 to start and a UA9 to end the test!

40 meters...Mr Jim VE7ZO (Mr Contest) and Kevan N4XL really milked this band
for all it was worth...new station record for ARRL CW in total qso's....

20 meters...Doug KY4F and team of part timers WW4B, AA4LR, W8ZF, and K5AUP
really put a hurtin on 20 meters...great effort..lost 1.5 hours of prime
operating time due to a failed keyboard and numerous network errors....ugh!!

15 meters....Mr Contest #2 K4TD and Steve AG4W really did a fine job of
co-ordination and co-operation all weekend long....New station record of qso's
for 15 meters in ARRL CW...and to top it all off...Rick had 183 qso's the first
hour to EU!!! Amazing!!

10 Meters...John K4BAI was of course a One Man Show....most every one filled in
on the mult station all weekend, but it was John all the way to finish line!
Considering the low sun spot number, a pretty amazing job by John and
assistants!

We had one new to Multi-Multi contesting this weekend...K5AUP Jim Kimball...boy
did he take to it like a 'duck to water"...think we have another converted
operator...

On a interesting note I need to relate the following story...John K4BAI was
trying to rotate the top 10m 7 element yagi from NE to NW...as he pressed the
rotor controlls asking the rotor to turn to the CCW direction, it started
turning in the CW direction and proceeded to go from NE to SE and then
stop...John in amazement and horror watched the rotor turn in exactally the
opposite direction as he expected! It was as if the rotor had a mind of it's
own...Of course John was really worried, because how could he explain the
station owner that the 10m top rotor was stuck SE and would not turn either
direction....when the station owner returned from a wedding party in Atlanta,
John began the process of explaining the rotor mistake...he ended his
presentation with the words "it had a mind of it's own, boss!"

It was really nice to see Krassy K1LZ and crew posting their scores on BOTH
sites for all to see...I find it very motivating to see the opponets score and
trying to catch up on each band as we watch the contest unfold...it would be
really nice to see "the other three winning teams" to participate along with us
in posting their scores on the internet...maybe the contest sponsors will start
requiring that we post our scores??

Considering our Southern location, and the definate difference in scores
attributated to distance from the concentrated population areas, it was
refreshing to have a score that is very close to "the winning teams" scores...

As always our log will be posted on LOTW...please qsl via LOTW.

We will not be active in ARRL SSB, But look for NQ4I M-M in CQ WPX SSB.

To all my op's who traveled long distances to be part of the operation, Thank
You very much....73 and see everyone in WPX SSB.

de Rick NQ4I
