Comments:

My standard setup at home has my rigs running from two 100AH 12V deep cycle
batteries that are float charged by a small regulated supply. I'd always wanted
to try QRP on FD, so I unplugged the power supply, turned off the un-needed
accessories (lights in antenna tuners, preamp and switching for the Beverages,
fans for the power amp, etc.), dialed the K3 down to 5 watts, and dimmed the
display. Everything worked great, and the batteries still have plenty of poop
at the end of the contest.

I ran nearly 100% S&P to save the batteries. In retrospect, I could have done
some running and still been OK.

Thanks for all the Qs

73, Jim K9YC
